There’s nothing better than a summer picnic spread alongside a glorious view.
Whether you are looking for a beachside snack or clifftop lunch there are lots of scenic picnic spots in Guernsey.
Bordeaux
One of the best spots to overlook neighbouring island herm. The small harbour paints a postcard-perfect view for a picnic with the fishing boats scattered along the shoreline.
Petit Port
A local favourite. The 270 stairs down to the secluded beach will work up your appetite, but the beautiful bay awaiting below is well worth the journey. We would recommend avoiding the heavy bottles and advise packing light for this picnic outing!
Candie Gardens
You don’t have to venture out of town for a picturesque lunch. Candie Gardens are beautifully maintained, blossoming gardens that provide serenity against the hustle and bustle of St Peter Port.
Cobo Bay
Grab a picnic spot at the end of the day and watch the sunset from one of the most picturesque spots in Guernsey at Cobo Bay. You can also enjoy delicious takeaway fish and chips from Cobo Fish Bar, best enjoyed while sat on the beach!
St Saviours Reservoir
Found in one of Guernsey’s most rural parishes, St. Saviour, the Reservoir is home to a picturesque walking route, a plethora of flora and fauna and, of course, plenty of fantastic picnic spots.
Clarence Battery
Once Guernsey’s major military headquarters in the late 1780s, Clarence Battery is a great spot for history buffs but also for those who want lunch with a spectacular view. Here you have a magnificent view across Sark, Herm, Brecqhou and Jethou, and even Jersey and mainland France on a clear day.
Port Soif
Port Soif is a horseshoe bay surrounded by sand dunes. It's sheltered location and soft sand make it perfect for a picnic and a swim. There is also a nearby kiosk selling drinks, food and providing toilets. You can easily access the bay on foot, by bus or by bike along the west coast of Guernsey.
Jerbourg Point
The cliffs in St Martin connecting the east and southern coasts showcase some of Guernsey's best views. You can reach the cliffs by bus, car, foot or bike before parking up and heading around the winding paths. There are various rest spots along the cliffs with benches perfect for picnics.
