There are many places for a pre-dinner drink on Guernsey. Head into St Peter Port for a glass of champagne or a gin and tonic at The Crown Club in our 5 star hotel, The OGH. To enjoy a cocktail with a view try Red or The Hook overlooking the marina. Balthazar is popular with visitors and locals alike, offering a great cocktail selection and the TikTok famous disco bathroom. Both Tinto and Rouge have cosy corners to enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles before or after dinner.
EATING OUT
We are lucky to have a wide variety of eateries offering many different types of cuisine including local seafood, Spanish tapas, sushi, French cuisine, amazing steaks and authentic Italian dishes.
In St Peter Port you can find world-class steak at Red and an excellent selection of sushi at The Hook. For Italian food visit Gusto or Rosso in the centre of town, or wander along the esplanade by the sea front to Otto. By the Otto you can also find the popular Chinese restaurant, China Red, which has an extensive menu to suit all kinds of dietary requirements.
For out-of-town options, take in a west coast sunset at La Reunion or The Rockmount, overlooking Cobo Bay, or head further south to The Imperial.

A SECRET SPOT FOR HISTORICAL LOVERS
For an adventure with a difference, head to Candie Garden Museum and Gallery and ask for the secret key. You will be handed an original, somewhat weighty, iron key that will give you access to a historic public building, Victoria Tower. Upon receipt of the key, you can head up the ninety-nine stairs to the top of the tower which overlooks St Peter Port and out to sea. Whilst there, look closely for the carved initials of exiled resident Victor Hugo, who wrote Les Misérables on Guernsey, and his lover Juliette Drouet. The two used to meet in the tower in secret. The view from the top is well worth the climb.
