Donkey Derby

The Lions Club of Guernsey’s Donkey Derby is renowned as being one of the main fun filled family day events in Guernsey’s summer calendar, taking place in the beautiful grounds of Saumarez Park.

2024 will be the 53rd Annual Donkey Derby, as well as the Donkey Races, which are fun to watch, especially if you place a bet at the Tote tent, there is also the Media Challenge Sulky Races where local TV, Radio and Newspaper reporters battle it out to win the much-coveted Media Challenge Trophy.

There is plenty of entertainment for the children including Bouncy Castles and Donkey Rides, as well as numerous Charity and Catering Stalls and the much loved Beer Tent!

All this plus, as the afternoon draws to a close and the sun starts to set, our beer tent bursts into life with music from local Guernsey performers.

All this in the knowledge that the proceeds raised during the day is used to support the Guernsey Lions Clubs local causes.
