Castle Cornet is an 800-year-old castle standing at the mouth of St Peter Port harbour. Just a short walk from the town centre, the castle offers a fascinating insight into hundreds of years of island history and spectacular panoramic views back towards St Peter Port and out across our sister islands. It is much bigger than it first appears so to make the most of your trip and allow at least three hours.

The story of the castle and other aspects of Guernsey's past can be found in the four museums housed within the Castle. These comprise of: the Story of Castle Cornet, 201 Squadron (RAF) Museum, Royal Guernsey Light Infantry Museum, and the Royal Guernsey Militia Museum.

There is plenty to explore throughout the grounds of the castle, including four historic gardens, as well as self-guided trails for children to enjoy along with a dressing up area.

Daily attractions take place throughout the season, including the Noonday Gun which is fired by gunners in 19th century costume at midday each day. There are opportunities to take photos with the constumed gunners after the Noonday Gun has been fired.

Be sure to check the What's On page on their website for more information on upcoming events.

After exploring the castle, be sure to stop by Cafe Maeva, which offers light meals and snacks with views out to sea and our sister islands of Herm and Sark. The cafe is open daily 10:30 - 16:30 during the season.

Finish your visit in the gift shop where you can buy quality books and original souvenirs.
